Ingredients
  

  • 1 block (14 oz) extra-firm tofu pressed to remove water
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or sesame oil sesame oil adds extra flavor
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch for maximum crispiness
  • smoked paprika, chili flakes, or nutritional yeast optional seasoning

Instructions
 

  • Press the tofu by wrapping it in a clean towel and placing something heavy on top for 15–20 minutes to remove excess moisture.
  • Cut the tofu into even bite-sized cubes.
  • In a bowl, toss the tofu with soy sauce, oil, garlic powder, onion powder, and optional spices.
  • Sprinkle cornstarch over the tofu and toss again until evenly coated.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • Spread tofu cubes in a single layer and cook for 15–20 minutes, shaking halfway, until golden and crispy.
  • Remove once golden and crispy, then serve with dipping sauces.

Notes

For extra crispiness, make sure to press the tofu well before cooking. You can also double-coat with cornstarch for an extra crunchy texture. Try tossing with BBQ sauce, teriyaki glaze, or sriracha after air frying for flavor variations.
